Project Engineer (Civil Engineering)

Responsibilities

  • Develop project scope for engineering services of industrial, commercial, multi-use and large-scale residential projects
  • Manage project schedules and deadlines
  • Coordinate technical design with design team and clients
  • Assign and review technical tasks
  • Attend meetings with review/regulatory agencies
  • Attend Planning Board/ Zoning Board of Appeals and other land use commission meetings
  • Prepare and review design criteria, drawings, and specifications
  • Prepare schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation
  • Prepare site design: layout, grading utility design, capacity analysis, and stormwater management design (SWPPP)
  • Prepare/review technical calculations
  • Prepare construction estimate of probable cost
  • Provide RFI support and construction observations for construction phase design
  • Prepare technical reports

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Engineer-in-Training certification required
  • ACAD and ACAD Civil 3D experience
  • Hydraulic modeling software experience
  • Presenting projects in a public forum
  • Communicating and coordinating technical items with other consultants or reviewers
  • Understanding the NYS SEQR process
  • Understanding of Federal, State and Local land use and environmental regulations
  • Independently managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Interacting professionally, appropriately, and positively with coworkers and clients
  • Willingness to work in the field as necessary
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Receptiveness to the input and suggestions of others

    Staff Engineer

    Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Required

    Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Required

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare site design including layout, grading utility design, capacity analysis, and stormwater management design (SWPPP)
    • Develop technical designs
    • Attend Planning Board/ Zoning Board of Appeals and other land use commission meetings
    • Prepare and review design criteria, drawings, and specifications
    • Prepare/review technical calculations and reports
    • Prepare construction estimate of probable cost
    • Provide RFI support and construction observations for construction phase design

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
    • NYS Professional Engineering certification preferred
    • ACAD and ACAD Civil 3D experience
    • Hydraulic modeling software experience
    • Willingness to work in the field as necessary
    • Possession of reliable transportation to access job sites and valid driver’s license in good standing
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Self-motivation, attention to detail and critical thinking
    • Receptiveness to the input and suggestions of others
    • Up to 6 years of experience

    Construction Inspector

    NICET Level 2 or EIT

    Job Description

    NICET Level 2 or EIT

    Responsibilities

    • Review project submittals for conformance with construction documents    
    • Respond to “Requests for Information” from bidders.
    • Provide construction observations for infrastructure projects and document conformance.
    • Verify elevations and locations of installed works.
    • Prepare calculations and observe utilities testing for water main and sanitary mainline and other utilities.
    • Perform NYSDEC SPDES observations for Sediment and Erosion Control.
    • Respond to filed issues.
    • Prepare redline as-built plans utilizing ACAD
    • Conduct soils percolation testing.
    • Assist Engineering staff is preparing documents and submittals

    Qualifications

    • NICET Level 2 in Civil Engineering Technology or NYS EIT
    • Knowledge or experience in utility infrastructure installation
    • Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkers
    • Self-motivated with attention to detail
    • Ability to think critically
    • Possess reliable transportation to access job sites with a valid driver’s license in good standing
